In the mid 1800’s, it was a shared passion for luxury and hand-crafted details that brought Seth Foster and G. S. Stearns together. At first to build high-end horse carriage upholstery. And then, by happenstance, hotel mattresses. A century and a half later, they’re known as the first American manufacturer of luxury mattresses. And that ideal still lives on today. Every Stearns & Foster mattress is built by only certified craftsman. The most experienced workers, held to the highest standards. Their work is constantly scrutinized to ensure perfection. And because of this detail-minded, hand-made crafting, each mattress takes twice as long to make as the average mattress. Everything from a stunning hand-tufted finish, styled handles, masterful embroidery and even a peek-a-boo fabric seen under the mattress are done by hand to attain rich luxurious looks and feels.
